Indian Lacquer Lovers Nail Challenge Week 2: Inspired by a 'Pattern'

Hi lacquer lovers,

Another nail treat today :D It's time to show my mani for the Indian Lacquer Lovers nail challenge pattern inspired mani. Now, the funny thing is I didn't even look around for inspiration. All I knew was, patterns involve intricacy and I am, no way in hell, doing it free hand. So stamping is my only option lol. So I rummaged through my 'untried' stamping plates stash, (yes, I not only have an untried nail polishes stash but also a good amount of stamping plates with their protective plastics on...*ashamed*) and picked up the 1st decent looking design and got onto work !!

For the base, I used O.P.I 'Funny Bunny', a soft white jelly and topped it with a layer of Lush Lacquer 'Freckles'.

'Freckles', as you can see, is a mix of small neon glitter hexes. Best looking on solid white. But using it on a soft white did soften the whole look. I will put up more swatches of Freckles in a separate post later.

I, then stamped a swirly design using Konad stamping polish and Cheeky CH52 stamping plate.

I wish the neon showed up a little more, anyways...

Oddly (for me), I am excited about the next theme and can't wait to explore and improve my poor skills..

Lemme know what you think of this design :)

The Maybelline Colorshow nail polishes are here :D These were a huge hit the moment the US, and now finally after eons of being in the US, they are finally launched in India.

I didn't have the patience of wearing both of these babies on different days so both of them went on at once lol

M.A.C Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder review

Oily skin has a lot of disadvantages, we all know of a few. For makeup junkies like you and me, what could be worse than having a slick shine on your face even before you have left your house on a tacky Indian summer afternoon ?? Well we do have a solution for that. M.A.C Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder to your rescue ma'am !! This is the pressed version here but it's also available in loose powder form.

Packaging:
All products from the Prep + Prime range come in shiny black cases. So this powder comes in a pan similar to the M.A.C Studio Fix compact but in a shiny black case and without a sponge.  It also has a small mirror inside so you can use it on the go !!

What is it ?
A silky, colorless finishing powder suitable for all skin tones. Reduces shine while optically minimizing the look of lines & imperfections. Wear over makeup or on its own. ( Taken from M.A.C website)

What does it do ?
It is a setting powder. It blurs minor imperfections and also works as a blotting agent.

How to use ?
This powder can be used to set the whole makeup or under the eye to set the concealer or to blot the shine on the face or to even mattify creamy lipsticks. This also prolongs the longevity of the makeup. My concealer on the under eye area doesn't crease anymore. Even though I still sweat and shine after a couple of hours but my makeup doesn't move for a long long time. Since it is transparent, it will work for anyone and everyone.

Highly recommended for oily skin beauties !! If you are buying the loose powder, there is a chance of wastage with every use due to the 'tapping' of the brush. A little goes a long way with the pressed version. And thank god, summer and sweat season is almost over !! Yayy

Price: Rs 1450/ 6.3 gms
Rating: 5/5 happi :)

Next time you are at the M.A.C store, do give this baby a try :)

Maybelline New York Blush Studio Cheeky Glow blush 'Fresh Coral' swatch & review

Maybelline is now known to bring some really cute looking and easily loveable products in the market. I still can't get over the cuteness of Baby Lips and have this urge to buy them in multiple flavors even though I haven't finished my current stick.

The newest offering from Maybelline is their Cheeky Glow blush...Oh, so cute <3

Packaging:
The new Cheeky Glow blush cames in a sturdy white pan with transparent domed lid. It taked a bit of an effort to open the lid but it also makes it travel friendly. I absolutely loved the tiny white thing. Talk about cuteness ;)

Color:
The shade of the blush I have is called Fresh Coral. From the name, you automatically take it to be a straight coral but this one is more of a peachy pink. I love :D

Texture:
The Cheeky Glow blush is matte in texture and has no shimmer/glitter/sparkle. Makes for an amazing day time blush. It isn't chalky to touch.

Application:
This blush is very soft to apply and blends very easily.

Pigmentation:
The pigmentation is good for a drugstore brand.

Longevity:
I have oily skin and this blush lasted on me for a good 4.5 hours. To say that I was surprised is an understatement. It was totally unexpected. I also tested it without a hoard of base products but it still gave me a good 3.5 hours.

Maybelline Cheeky Glow is also said to be dermatologist tested & non-comedogenic. These words are like music to the ears of a girl suffering from acne !!

Taking into consideration the price of this product, it is an excellent choice for people on budget like students and makeup newbies. Even though I have quite some blushes from MAC, Benefit and Nars, this one is still a good addition to my stash :)

Price: Rs. 250/7 gms.

Rating: 4/5 happi :)

Well done Maybelline !! This makes me look forward to more of their new launches.

Check out Maybelline India's page here.

*PR sample and all that jazz ;)
